7 Essential Items Every Female Solo Traveller Needs To Pack

Look at that girl travelling solo, I wish I could do the same! Isn’t this something that comes to your mind when a female solo traveller passes by you on the street? More than having the confidence that one needs when travelling solo, it is the perception towards the concept of travel that brings out the solo traveller in people. No one to ask, no one to listen to, just a free bird in the wild skies.

But, have you ever thought that though confidence is a nice weapon to possess, you need to have other essentials with you, just to be prepared for the worst. It is, after all, a cruel world out there. You never know what is in store for you. Do not worry, I don’t intend to scare you, I just wish to bring to your notice that one should be assured of one’s comfort and safety when travelling solo. So, here is a list of essentials that you must pack on your next trip. Let’s get started!

Backpack

You of course need to have a cool light backpack to keep all the stuff that I will be suggesting later in this blog. I am not talking about the main travel bag, but a small backpack other than that stores all the essentials you need with you to go out. Make sure you always pack a lightweight but spacious backpack, that does not give you a backache from the load. Tactical backpacks are great for these purposes. You can even carry them to hike, camping or any other outdoor adventure.

Sunscreen

Now this is every girl’s saviour, you just can’t miss to pack this. Whether you plan to go out on a sightseeing tour, a hike, biking or plan to relax on a beach, sunscreen is the only thing that is going to save you from getting tanned. More than that, you protect yourself from the harmful UV rays and sunburns.

Multi-tool

This is something that can come to your rescue in moments of crisis. Whether it is as simple as cutting fruit or as complex as tightening nuts and bolts, a multi-tool can be used for any and every purpose. It does justice to the name given to it. And, ladies, a multi tool can also be used as a weapon for self-defense when attacked by a pickpocket or a molester.

Pepper Spray

This is another essential that you need to have with you all the time, leave alone travelling. If you are planning to travel to ‘not so safe’ countries, you definitely got to pack this. Believe me when I say that you will probably never have to take it out of your bag but having it with you will give you another level of confidence altogether.

Battery Backup

We, millennials, like to use our phones a lot. Be it taking pictures, navigating routes, surfing the net or posting on social media, we are constantly on our phones. Even on a holiday. Yeah, that’s sad! Well, my point being, always keep a battery backup with you. You never know when your phone might get discharged, and even though you might be carrying a charger, you may not find a place to plug it in, like, during camping. And this is yet another method, for female travellers, to ensure safety while travelling.

First Aid

Always keep a first aid kit handy because you can not call 911 in all situations. At times when you can, help may arrive late. It’s also good to have some basic first aid knowledge or training, and if you do not already have, consider getting one before your next trip.

Scarf

Okay, so this may sound off the hook to you, but a scarf is a very useful item. How? Well, it has multiple uses too. You can use it on a chilly evening to wrap around yourself, you can use it to tie your hair, you can cover your face with it to protect yourself against tanning and you can use it for tying things in situations where you don’t find any other reliable material. A useful item to pack, right?

10 Reasons to Send Travel Postcards

Every trip is unique. Each experience is different. And beyond the technological advances, few experiences are as satisfying as sending postcards to your loved ones. This way you can make them part of all your trips. What are the main reasons for sending postcards? Below are some very good reasons why you should always bother preparing and sending postcards! With options such as Mixbook it’s possible to create your own photobooks or postcards and the Mixbook review prove that it’s really easy to use.

Reasons to send postcards

  1. A postcard is a very economic detail. That is, you can give great happiness to your friends and family for a low cost price.
  2. The process of sending a postcard is very exciting. From the moment you drop the postcard in the mailbox until the recipient receives it, makes for an exciting journey. That is, the postcard acquires its own history, its own itinerary.
  3. Not losing the old habits is a good formula to not end with traditions as beautiful and constructive as sending postcards.
  4. Postcards are like photographs of the most emblematic places of a destination. The difference is you have the possibility to customize the visual image through a message of your own or to prepare the postcard yourself.
  5. You do not need to buy envelopes to send the postcards. They will all arrive at their destination.
  6. The joy that recipients get when receiving a postcard is greater than when they receive a message from whatsapp or other online messaging. Quite simply, because a postcard is less routine and is something they can touch.
  7. In the stationery market, you will find a wide range of products to turn every trip into an unforgettable gift. Choose your favorite postcards with love.
  8. Surely some of your friends collect postcards. Or, some of your contacts may not be able to travel as much as you do. And through this little detail, you make those people feel a little closer to those movie destinations.
  9. There are fewer and fewer people who send letters to their friends. If you do not want to be one more in the middle of the mass then power the difference.
  10. Your recipients will be able to see the postcard once and a thousand times regardless of how much time passes. Those postcards that are historical in your life will be contextualized in a concrete time.
Write postcards because the happiness of a trip can be enjoyed in very different ways. The value of a postcard increases with time!
